Coquillettidia Mosquitoes CAUSES West Nile Virus

“Coquillettidia” gots its name in honour of Daniel William Coquillett. A Colleague of Harrison Gray Dyar Jr an entomologist who founded it in 1904.

 

To identify the Coquillettidia, bear in mind that they are different from other Mosquitoes. Because of their dark and pale BROAD asymmetrical wings.

They are found in every continent, except Antarctica. They love tropical regions. 

They give diseases and arboviruses: Eastern equine encephalomyelitis, and West Nile Virus.

 

Avoid The Culiseta During Cold Periods

The Culiseta Loves Low or Cold temperatures. Avoid them by remaining vigilant when you are in harmattan, winter, or low temperatures.

 

Be on the Lookout, when entering your house, or when skiing, diving. Or Mountain bike riding.

To tell the difference between the Culiseta and Culex. Mosquitoes, Just Look at their wings. But how on earth can you do that? 

 

 

Be Aware Of CULICINAE

 

Culicinae is a sub-family of Culicidae. In a Short term, let’s call them Step sisters to Mosquitoes. Culicinae has 3046 Species.

and over 3600 of Mosquitoes, is that a huge number? 

They are dangerous because they have key species responsible for pathogen transmission.

This in turn, separates them from their brother: Culex Mosquitoes.

Culicidae is the botanical name for Mosquitoes. It is derived from a Latin word: culex. that means “gnat” when translated.

Avoid The Bite Of Psorophora

 

In the U.S, the Psorophora was dubbed “Shaggy Legged Gallinipper” because of its size. But mostly, because of the testament of its victims: Painful Bite!! 😭

To know them, their males and females are Larger than other Mosquitoes except the 1.5-inch Toxorhynchites.

Also, they have yellowish colours with a black spot. and a 7-9mm wingspan making them 2nd Deadliest.

Because they feed mainly on blood from mammals. For example, rabbits. Armadillo, raccoons. 

 

LOOKOUT For Haemagogus While Travelling 

They are found in Tropical Areas in Africa. That’s why they are called AfroTropical. 

In 1901 Frederick Vincent Theobald described them as Cannibals in their development stages.

Asia, India, Australia, Japan, & South Pacific: Tripteriods

122 Species and 5 Subgenera. Scientists called the Tripteriods a “large and Complex” assemblage. 

 

If you’re in Brazil, America, Avoid..

The Mansonia Mosquito breeds in ponds. To avoid them carefully watch your drums, remove old waters.

By doing so you are saying No Nonsense To the breeding of Mansonia Mosquitoes.

You can actually do these in a community by being careful of veges that float on “water” since they breed there.

They are major vectors of lymphatic filariasis, Murray valley encephalitis, Kunjin and Ross River Virus. 

These diseases may differ based on regions.

COMMON HOUSE MOSQUITO MUST BE KILLED

Asia Tiger Mosquitoes CAUSES Dengue Virus Lose Track Of Them

Aedes will not leave you until it bites you. That’s why they are called Tiger Mosquitoes 😡.

The breathing of aedes is different from Anopheles. Let me break it down:
